Faith - is a many precious thing. Faith in the authorities; faith in the Government.
With this, Governments can galvanise the people to tide through difficult times.
With this, the people may unite in times of crisis.
Without it, the people may not even be happy with a simple policy, or be suspicious of everything government.
Faith is not just about projecting the best face to the public. It is about doing things right and what is publicly defensible to the people. We may agree to disagree on our stands on various subjects/policies. But we have to have moral leadership.
