It is the ubiquitous global brand that one would see in every city in the world, just like one would see McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut almost everywhere - in Hongkong, Shanghai, London and Beijing.
It is Starbucks.
It had a place even within the Forbidden City. But it was not to be. The authorities have decided that Starbucks could not be within its noble premises, unless it is part of the Palace refreshment setup. But since Starbucks does not sell under another name, it has decided to move out.
Musing over it, I think it's a pity to give up the treasured spot in the Forbidden City. Why not have it under the Palace brand name, but call it special Palace Starbucks brew? Hmm.
