Blogging or image-building?

Someone said, in last few months, that blogging has reached its peak and will taper off. Because whoever wants to blog is already blogging. Perhaps.

We are seeing more and more new blogs. Or maybe they were already there and we only know of them recently. Perhaps.

Interesting how blogs can be image-builders too. But ultimately it still comes down to whether the image is true to fact or life. Some critics will wonder if you really blog yourself, or got someone to blog in your name.

Well, to each his own. We, simple beings, just blog to share our thoughts and what we find interesting, with our friends.

Victoria's blog is an eye-opener

Posh Spice's blog is such a hit that fans keep crashing her website to load up on her high-life eye candy

IT IS Jan 17, 2007, and Victoria Beckham has been house hunting and checking out schools for her sons in Los Angeles.
She is also figuring out how to get from Santa Monica to Malibu, and from Brentwood to Bel Air.
'LA is a big place... But we'll get there. The sooner the better - the kids want to know the quickest way to Disneyland!' she says.
Believe it or not, but Beckham, former Posh Spice of the girl group the Spice Girls and wife of England's most famous footballer David, has started blogging.
Her Jan 17 post is the latest on her website www.dvbstyle.com, which she started last October and which stands for David and Victoria Beckham.
It is the online vehicle the singer-turned-designer uses to sell her collection of eyewear, fragrance, jeans and handbags under the DVB label.
Opening with a cheery 'Greetings from LA', Beckham, 32, also gushes about the reception she received from Americans.
She will move to LA with David, 31, in summer when he starts playing for American soccer club LA Galaxy. They have three sons - Brooklyn, seven, Romeo, four and Cruz, almost two.
'People in the street have been calling out things like: 'Welcome Home, we're so excited you're here'. That has been fantastic, and one of the best things about this trip,' she coos in her blog.

With servants at her beck and call, Posh Spice doesn't have to lift a finger to do anything for herself. She once reportedly bragged that she had never read a book in her life, but she will have you believe that she sits in front of a computer and blogs.

Whether she is really doing it herself or has a ghostwriter, the posts provide peeks into events of her jetset life while keeping fans updated on her latest fashion projects.
She writes about launching her style book, That Extra Half Inch, in London, doing a shoot for Harper's Bazaar magazine, attending the Bambi Awards in Germany, and launching her jewellery collection in Japan with Japanese design label Samantha Thavasa.

But it is the photographs accompanying the blog that are the real hit with Internet surfers.
The snaps, taken on her mobile phone, lift the lid on her luxurious lifestyle, showing her relaxing in a private jet, posing in a trench coat, lugging a piece of luggage and leaving for the wedding of friends Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in Italy last year.
They were so popular that fans kept crashing her website, reports London's Daily Star.

Fans also went crazy over videos showing her hamming it up for the camera at a Starbucks outlet, attending her book signing in London, and singing karaoke to the Spice Girls' song, Wannabe.
In one video, she chats about a shopping trip while dressed in a bathrobe in a room in Japan. She says: 'I got a really nice pair of sunglasses, a nice coat... and I got David a hat. A hat.'

Greetings from LA
We've been lucky enough to be invited to a couple of Golden Globe parties, and met a lot of great people. As for the clothes - wow - there are some gorgeous dresses being worn by Hollywood's finest. I wore a Cavalli A-line shift dress. It had a detailed neckline and little pockets in the most gorgeous plum colour with beautiful shoes covered in shimmering crystals by Le Silla. It was FABULOUS!

Moving to LA
No doubt you would have heard the news by now that David and I are going to be moving to America. This is a really exciting move for us and the children, and one which we have thought about carefully. I know David is excited about promoting football in the United States and playing for LA Galaxy.
I'm really looking forward to making new friends and enjoying the sunshine in California. But I will be back often and will keep everybody here up-to-date with what's happening. Keep your eyes peeled for more news, which will be posted here on the DVB site.

Bambi Awards
I headed off to Stuttgart last week for the Bambi Awards (German version of Emmies and Oscars). It was only a short stay but we had a really good time.
I presented the fashion award to Roberto Cavalli. He is a great friend of mine and also a wonderful designer whom I have been fond of for many years.
The Scissor Sisters performed, I wanted to go up and say hi but couldn't find them afterwards. I think they're great and would have loved to have had a drink with them. Samuel L. Jackson sat at the table next to us and the Queen of Sweden was also there. I didn't stay up late for the party as I was flying back to be with the children in the morning. Can't do late nights and early mornings anymore!
